MyMotiv is a website dedicated to providing expert guidance for runners, offering training plans, tips, and resources for runners of all levels. It offers personalized training plans custom to individual needs, helping users reach the start line with confidence.
Goal
MyMotiv’s goal was to increase organic traffic by improving its search engine visibility and positioning for high-volume keywords related to running and training programs.
Solutions
Our strategy focused on creating a content cluster around high-traffic, running-related keywords. We guided the client through the process of structuring their content and implementing SEO best practices, which included:
Content Structure and Strategy
We provided detailed content guidance and recommendations to help the client create unique and high-quality articles. This made sure that the content would rank well on Google by covering all relevant aspects of marathon and half marathon training.
Internal Linking Strategy
We also provided guidance on how to do the internal linking to connect related cluster pages. This improved the website's overall structure, making it easier for search engines to understand the relationship between different pieces of content. We also noticed an improvement in rankings for multiple pages.
Building Trust Signals
We advised the client to show their expertise and authority. This included creating content that was written by subject-matter experts (experienced runners and fitness experts). This strategy helped to build trust with visitors and improve the credibility of the site in the eyes of both users and search engines.
Content Optimization
The next focus was on optimizing content for SEO, including keyword usage, improving meta tags, and making sure that articles were aligned with user intent. This approach helped to maximize organic search performance.
Results
Before joining our efforts on the strategy, MyMottiv had 7,000 monthly organic visitors. By following the content cluster strategy, focusing on popular running topics, and optimizing the content, their traffic grew to more than 18,000 visitors per month.
At the start of the project, MyMottiv had 801 keywords ranking in the top 10 positions on Google. After implementing the content cluster strategy, which focused on improving the rankings for competitive running-related keywords, the number of keywords in the top 10 jumped to 2,203, which increased MyMotiv’s visibility topically in search results around running broader topics.
