Project Overview
WildBird specializes in stylish and functional baby carriers. Their product lineup includes ring slings, buckle wraps and the Aerial Buckle Carriers, designed to offer comfort and ease of use for parents and caregivers. WildBird also offers a range of baby essentials, including pajamas, sleep sacks, pregnancy pillows, etc.
Goal
The main goal of WildBird was to improve their visibility on Google, increase brand awareness, and drive organic sales. They didn’t focus much on SEO before, so they wanted to grow their presence in search results and become a well-known name in the baby carrier market.
Solutions
Technical Audits
We began the project with a very detailed technical SEO audit to identify and address any barriers preventing Google bots from crawling and indexing important pages. This step was critical in laying the foundation for the website’s organic growth.
The audit showed that the site was technically in good condition. We just solved issues like crawl errors and optimizing canonical tags. These improvements helped maximize the website's visibility in search engines.
Collections and Money Keywords
Our next step was to research the market and identify key "money keywords" connected with WildBird's business goals. Using this research, we created new collections targeting the found keywords and optimized them with high-quality content. Those pages addressed common audience questions about baby carriers, including how to wear and use them, making them both informative and focused on conversions.
We further improved on-page SEO by optimizing headings, metadata, and content to increase search engine visibility and user engagement. This approach helped us target transactional keywords as wll and effectively increase organic sales.
Website Architecture: Navigation and Internal Linking
To improve the user experience and help Google crawl the site, we suggested updates to the top menu bar. These changes made the navigation simpler, making it easier for both users and search engines to find important pages.
Additionally, we optimized the internal linking structure to make sure we have a strong authority flow between pages. By strategically linking collections, product pages, and blog content, we improved the website's overall hierarchy and helped increase the rankings of key pages.
Content Clusters
To target informational keywords, we developed a content plan that centered around a silo-structured article offering detailed guidance on baby carriers.
This resource covered topics such as choosing the right baby carrier, the best carrying positions, and when babies can safely face forward in a carrier. It also addressed common concerns, including the weight limits for carriers, how long babies can sleep in them, and when to stop using a carrier altogether.
To make sure the content was accurate and valuable, we worked with an expert certified in Babywearing. By covering these diverse topics, we not only educated the audience but also positioned WildBird as a reliable source of expert information in the babywearing space.
We also expanded the content strategy to include clusters to support other product categories like baby mats, pregnancy pillows, baby wear, and pajamas. These clusters were designed to attract more traffic by targeting long-tail queries and improving topical authority.
Link Building
To support our efforts across money and informational keywords, we executed targeted link-building campaigns as well. Over the course of the project, we secured 243 high-quality backlinks, which helped to increase the website's domain rating (DR) and improve keyword rankings.
Results
We optimized key landing pages, created new collections to target long-tail keywords, and improved internal linking for website structure. These efforts, along with detailed on-page optimization, resulted in a 649% increase in organic traffic, growing from 8,161 weekly visits to 61,111.
Through link-building and content SEO efforts, WildBird achieved 677% growth in Google SERP, ranking for 918 keywords in the top 1-3 positions and 1,593 keywords in the 4-10 positions.
Wildbird’s Domain Rating (DR) improved from 48 to 53, which is a 10% increase. This growth was achieved by securing 155 high-quality backlinks from relevant, authoritative websites, which helped strengthen the site’s authority.
