Project Overview
Functionize is an automated software testing platform for teams of all sizes and skill sets. It allows product managers, developers, and quality engineers to create, automate, and run tests on any browser.
Goal
Functionize aimed to rank high for the keyword "automated testing." Previously, they invested nearly a year in link-building efforts and creating blog content related to the niche. However, these strategies were ineffective and did not yield the desired improvement in their keyword rankings. That's when they hired us to devise a strategy aimed at achieving this objective.
Solutions
To improve rankings for the “automated testing” keyword, we applied a silo content strategy and acquired high-quality, niche-relevant backlinks from authoritative websites and blogs.
Silo Content Strategy
Internal Linking
High-Quality Backlinks
Our link-building team acquired 780 high-quality backlinks from relevant websites and blogs, with an average DR of 60. Our link-building strategy proved highly effective, largely due to the interconnected nature of all the pages within the silo. This setup allowed for the efficient distribution of backlink juice across the site, enhancing the overall strength and visibility of the website domain in search engine rankings.
Results
We began to observe traffic growth in the third month after implementing the strategy. Within 16 months of this strategic implementation, organic clicks surged by an impressive 75%, attracting a significantly larger audience to the website.
The Automated Testing silo pages began ranking for 701 new keywords in the top 10 positions, marking a remarkable 47% increase compared to the initial traffic. Consequently, the website experienced a surge of 5.5K additional monthly visitors.
Currently, Functionize ranks in the 7th position for the target keyword "automated testing" and in the top 10 positions for “automation testing software,” “Salesforce testing,” “UI testing tools,” “automated deployment tools,” and other related keywords.
Upon onboarding the project, the website had a Domain Rating (DR) of 52. Through the successful execution of link-building campaigns over 16 months, we managed to acquire top-tier backlinks from 780 unique domains and increase the DR to 66.
